Why women over 40?

Women in midlife encounter a multitude of challenges. Balancing family, career, and caring for aging parents leaves us with scant time for ourselves. Moreover, at this stage, the initial symptoms of perimenopause manifest, accompanied by a diverse array of associated symptoms. Approximately 30 symptoms are commonly linked to the hormonal fluctuations inherent in perimenopause, yet some medical practitioners suggest that the number may surpass 80.

This stage is marked not only by physical symptoms but also by significant mental changes that profoundly impact our lives, influencing our daily activities. Predominant among the physical manifestations experienced by women in perimenopause are hot flashes, irregular periods (occasionally heightened in frequency with increased bleeding and discomfort), insomnia, fatigue, weight gain, and joint pain, including the occurrence of frozen shoulder.

Concurrently, prevalent mental symptoms encompass irritability, anxiety, cognitive fog, depression, and panic attacks. Navigating a "normal" life under these circumstances poses a formidable challenge, particularly in the face of societal expectations related to familial leadership and professional obligations.

While medical interventions offer a plethora of pharmacological treatments for menopausal symptoms, ranging from targeted symptom management to hormone replacement therapy, empirical evidence underscores the beneficial impact of proper nutrition and regular physical activity on mitigating the majority of these symptoms.
